Scam reminder
2 October 2024
The UK Supreme Court has been alerted to a new text message scam circulating.
Over the last week the Court has received a high number of reports from members of the public receiving text messages, using our name and branding, to threaten people with Court action and fines.
The Court does not prosecute people and does not contact people out of blue demanding money or threatening arrest.
Scam messages should be reported to Action Fraud â€" the UK's national fraud and cyber-crime reporting centre.
If you are unsure about any communications from the UK Supreme Court please get in touch with us: registry@supremecourt.uk
Scammers can be convincing and will use Supreme Court branding, legitimate phone numbers and email addresses, and names of people who work for the Court.
