Self-represented Parties

The JCPC is an appeal court. Where the JCPC holds jurisdiction, it is regarded as the final court of appeal for many Commonwealth countries, as well as the United Kingdom’s overseas territories, crown dependencies, and military sovereign base areas.

It may be that your case cannot be heard by the JCPC as it does not have jurisdiction – i.e. the Court may not have the authority to hear your case.

Please read our Self-represented party guidance for more information about whether you can take your case to the JCPC.

To make an application, self-represented parties must register or log in to the Portal and make an Eligibility check.
